It is finally here… The beginning of nursing school.
Day 1 of nursing school starts tomorrow. I don't know exactly how I am feeling but here are a few words…#Excited #Nervous #Anxious #Fearful #Relieved.
For the last year or so I have been looking forward to this day. I have done my best to complete all of my pre req's; research the schools I wanted to attend; studied hard to pass classes and entrance exams… It was all in hopes I would get into nursing school. Now that it is here I am a little reservered about it all starting “so soon.”
To think I thougth that a year of pre req's would take forever (which it really didn't)… nope.. it didn't….time indeed fly right by.
I wanted to take a few minutes to just write about my pre Day 1 feelings and can't wait to reflect on how my first week of nursing school went.
I will be taking three classes my first semester:
- 1) Clinical Foundations
- 2) Health Assessment
- 3) Fundamentals of Nursing
I am really happy that I was able to transfer my pharmacology grade and be exempt from taking Dosage Calculations. I rather take 3 classes vs 4 any day!
Before I forget; ( side note) I told myself that I want to make sure I make the time this week to make three different vlogs. I really am excited to look back at these three videos and see how far I have come by the end of this year. So look forward to these videos at youtube.com/ifitnurse

Today at church I really felt at peace with this transition of starting nursing school. I am now only doing sound for two churces so I have gone down from 3 jobs to 2 jobs. I know it will all work out! My husband and I have talked about what sacrifices we have to make for the next two years or so. We are ready and excited for all that is to come!
I, also, really felt at peace because a lot of my family and friends really are supporting me in this season in my life. Some nurses and some not but I really do appreciate and look forward to leaning on them when things get tough. They have my back!
Being me, OCD like, I have done extensive research on developing a reading and note taking system that I think will really help me during nursing school. I am looking forward to trying it all out and see what works for me.
Anyways, I need to pack my book bag and get to bed early. I have to wake up at 5:30 am in order to leave at 6:30 am to make it to class at 8:00 am. YIKES! I do not look forward to getting up this early every day!
Oh yea, I will also start working out regularly. If there is anything I learned from myself last semester is that if I do not work out and release my stress I really will lose it! So I will do my best to make sure I balance my school, gym, and family time this semester!
Well, for everyone who is going back to school tomorrow, have a great day!
Everyone who is starting nursing school this semester, congratulations; you got this!
